Ko'jua

from First Flight by Morgan Toney

/

about

The Ko'jua is a traditional Mi'kmaq song that has its own dance. Usually it will be sung accompanied by the Jikamaqn, which is a traditional Mi'kmaq instrument. Keith heard me sing this at a show we did one time ago in We'koma'q First Nation. Instantly he said "I gotta record that!". After we received lots of feedback, we decided to make this album.
