Honour Song

from First Flight by Morgan Toney

about

Written by George Paul, this is one of the most important songs of the Mi'kmaq people. We sing this song during ceremonies, gatherings, and everything in between. This song is so important to me because when I sang this song at a ceremony, a young eagle flew overhead and did not leave my sight until the song was over. This is how I received my Spirit Name: Nutkwe'k Kitpu, which translates to Young Eagle.
